About The Project
A healing journey in the crossroads of PTSD and Depression The project was created by Jose Ramon, who was diagnosed with PTSD and Depression. It is a series of photographs and first-person narratives mainly of people of color from the LGBT community. Some models have struggled with mental health issues while other models in the photos have been supportive of such struggles. TWSP attaches a face to the stigma of Mental Illness and allows the viewer to get closer to the human beings behind the portraits and stories. A white shirt is used as a catalyst provoking dialogue and stirring up emotions leading to catharsis while transforming our own experience with mental health from the individual to the community.
